7 DAY MULTIPLE OFFENDER PROGRAM (if sentenced for a 2nd or greater offense OR a 1st offense aggravated DUI)
If you are convicted of a 2nd offense DUI within ten years of your last DUI conviction, you will be sentenced to a mandatory minimum 10-day sentence. The first three days will be served in jail while the remaining seven days are served in the Multiple Offender Intervention Detention Center, which is located in Laconia. The 10-day sentence is consecutive which means you are transported directly from jail to the MOP program in Laconia. You will need to arrange transportation from the MOP program upon successful completion.
The Multiple Offender Program consists of the following:
- An intensive 7-day/6 night residential program. One evening is set aside specifically for family education and discussion;
- Alcohol and other drug education, group interactions and self-assessment; and
- An evaluation by a licensed or certified alcohol and drug counselor.
Currently, the fee is set at $1,550.00. You should check with the MOP program to determine if the fees have changed. Payment is due in full upon entry to the program, which is in addition to any reinstatement fees you will be required to pay in order to have your driving privileges reinstated following the expiration of the suspension period.
* Note that the enrollment in the MOP program must be completed within 21 days of conviction on the DUI charge.
